you once forsook
the world takes on its former look.

Seasons pass
the old man lurks unseen
until you leave the gates open
on these pastures green,
allowing former horrors
to creep back in

The dreams that lead us astray
can come alive again on any day.
old vices and habits
come down from the shelf
again you must decide
to divorce  yourself.
